What’s life for? Finding purpose.

We had a great evening at TNG (our 11-14 youth group) last Wednesday answering the question “what would Jesus say to Amy Winehouse?”

Here’s the outline for anyone wanting to do a session on purpose.

Quiz: What’s that for?  What are these mystery items for?

We then asked the group to split into teams for another purpose focused game:  Come up with a list of three items or objects which have no purpose. If the other team can’t find a purpose for your object, you win a point. If they get a purpose, they get a point.

Our lists included: snot, house dust and extracted teeth. All of which we found a purpose for.

We then asked the big question for the night:

What is your purpose in life?

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 10:31

We ended the night by discussing the way all we do in life can ultimately glorify God, even the choice of socks we put on in the morning.
